Track Name: Plant Parallels
A wallflower’s climbing the walls

unable to touch the Dancing Dolls.

He may as well be in an African desert

devoid of shade, devoid of water.

He’ll go home and sit by the windowsill,

for plenty of light will be needed
to heal a wilted ego.

Tepid water will seep to the roots

releasing daydreams in the air.
Plant parallels sowing.

Are these plant parallels growing,
growing inside this mind?

I’ll be the poet who sits near the lake

and paints pictures with a Scarlet Brush,

who falls in love with his own reflection

and unafraid of trees,

I’ll have hair like a Boston Fern

and I am never dormant.

I’ll awake not for the world.

Maybe I’ll bloom in December.

Plant parallels sowing.

Are these plant parallels growing?

You can see the Dancing Dolls

there by the Silver Tree.

Are these plant parallels growing,

Growing inside this mind?

Heather, Erika, Rosa baby,
Busy Lizzy, Amazon Lily

break their petals to sneak out of the green house

to see the poet who sits near the lake.

And Creeping Charlie’s Impatient to tell.

They hope he’ll slip on the Moss on the rocks and die.

I’ll awake not for the world.

Maybe I’ll bloom in December.
